Face-to-Face for Carer

The Carer Pack includes practical, trainer-led face-to-face learning designed to strengthen the skills carers use every day in health and social care settings.

While online learning provides the essential knowledge and understanding, face-to-face training gives learners the opportunity to see techniques demonstrated, practise them under supervision and receive immediate feedback from an experienced trainer. This is particularly valuable for topics where safe practice depends on correct technique, communication, judgement and confidence.

Training sessions are built around realistic care situations so learners can connect what they have learned with the challenges they may encounter during their normal duties. They are encouraged to ask questions, practise safely, identify poor practice and understand when a situation should be stopped, reported or escalated to a senior member of staff.

Where appropriate, learners will take part in practical activities, demonstrations, scenario-based exercises and competency checks. Trainers can identify areas where additional support is needed and correct unsafe techniques before they become embedded in workplace practice.

The aim is not simply to complete a training session. It is to help carers develop the practical confidence, awareness and safer working habits needed to support people effectively while maintaining dignity, choice and person-centred care.
