This course aims to help frontline health and social care workers understand duty of candour and respond appropriately when care does not go as intended.
It promotes honest communication, timely reporting, compassionate support and a positive learning culture focused on improving safety rather than concealing mistakes.
The course provides role-appropriate awareness for healthcare assistants, care assistants, support workers, senior carers and similar frontline staff working in England.
It explains the difference between openness in everyday practice, the statutory organisational duty and the professional duty applying to regulated healthcare professionals. It does not qualify learners to decide independently whether an incident meets the statutory notification threshold or to lead a formal duty-of-candour process.
